Company Overview

Saint Louis University – located on a beautiful, historic 271-acre campus in St. Louis, Missouri with an international campus in Madrid, Spain – is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious Catholic universities. Founded in 1818, SLU is recognized for its world-class faculty and academic programs, life-changing research, compassionate health care and strong commitment to faith and service.
Rooted in Jesuit values with a pioneering history as the first university west of the Mississippi River, SLU offers its nearly 13,000 students a rigorous, transformative education of the whole person. It is guided by a service-focused mission: the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of God and for the service of humanity. SLU seeks excellence in the fulfillment of its corporate purposes of teaching, research, health care and service to the community.
SLU is dedicated to leadership in the continuing quest for understanding of God’s creation and for the discovery, dissemination and integration of the values, knowledge and skills required to transform society in the spirit of the Gospels. This pursuit is motivated by the inspiration and values of the Judeo-Christian tradition and guided by the spiritual and intellectual ideals of the Society of Jesus.
Ultimately, SLU’s vision is to be a global Jesuit university that is mission-focused, student- and patient-centered and research-driven, working with the people of St. Louis to reimagine, transform and unify the city.
Academically, SLU offers 89 undergraduate majors and 86 graduate disciplines across 12 colleges, schools and degree-granting centers: College of Arts and Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Law, College of Philosophy and Letters, Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business, Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology, Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing, Doisy College of Health Sciences, College for Public Health and Social Justice, School for Professional Studies, School of Education, and the Center for Advanced Dental Education.

SLU has been identified as one of the country’s top colleges by The Princeton Review, Niche, Fiske Guide to Colleges and Forbes magazine.

SLU’s campus boasts a 120,000-square-foot recreation center, state-of-the-art classrooms, historic halls, parklike spaces and three museums. One of them, the Saint Louis University Museum of Art, ranks No. 4 among the top 50 college and university museums in the nation, according to collegerank.net.

As well, SLU is one of eight institutions in Missouri, and only the second Jesuit institution, to be awarded the Arbor Day Foundation's "Tree Campus USA" designation for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.
